Caring in Bracknell Forest
Do you live or care for someone in Bracknell Forest? SIGNAL is funded to provide free support and advice for adults caring for adults including young carers approaching adulthood and carers of disabled children approaching adulthood.

Referrals
We know that supporting carers early in their caring journey is key to supporting them.
As a professional, you will meet, work with, or recognise unpaid carers as part of your everyday activities.

Young Carers
A young carer is someone under 18 helping to look after someone with their illness, frailty, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction.

Adult Carers
A adult carer is someone over 18 helping to look after someone usually another adult with their illness, frailty, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction.

Parent Carers
A parent carer is someone over 18 who provides care to a disabled child for whom they have parental responsibility.

Assistive Technology Survey Bracknell Forest Council are part of an East Berkshire consortium that are working together to identify how assistive technology is used by our carers. Some of our unpaid carers already use these devices to support them in their caring role. Often these devices are also used by the person they look after. We are trying to understand what devices prove to be most useful and learn whether there are any other devices
