Free Call Blocking Units

Edit 25 October, these have now run out. "The team had an unprecedented response to the project and all units have now been applied for. This has highlighted the growing problem of scam and nuisance calls, and the vital need for these call blocking units. The units went much faster than anticipated and this was certainly helped by all of your support for the project. Due to this overwhelming response to the project, there has been some delays in the time expected to receive the unit. We have let all applicants know via email or letter but please inform any applicants of this if they ask."

The National Trading Standards (NTS) Scams Team have received funding from the Department for Culture Media and Sport (DCMS) to supply and fit free call blocking units for people who receive scam and nuisance phone calls. The units supplied will be the trueCall Secure units.

Applications open on Tuesday 15th October. Complete the online application at the Friends Against Scams website.

Carers’ Social+

The local libraries are providing regular coffee sessions for carers at almost all local libraries across Bracknell Forest.

The cost is 50p per person and includes tea, coffee and cake. The person you care for is also welcome to attend.

These sessions will give carers the chance to be looked after and meet other carers and you can receive signposting to other services that may help and support you in your caring role e.g. Community Map, SIGNAL, mental health services, Healthwatch, CAB etc. SIGNAL staff will try to attend as many of the events as possible every month (staff resource and budget is limited).
